My Blog/Blogosphere

In all honesty I disliked the idea of keeping a weekly blog for this English class. I'm not much of a talker if I don't know you well so I can seem a little shy and I didn't enjoy the idea of putting my thoughts out on the internet for everybody to see. At first I started off talking about video games and some video clips and it became kind of hard to find a good subject to write about. I tried to make the layout of my blog the Chicago Cubs team colors but it looks pretty gay and is hard to keep your eyes focused on it. I'm a die hard cubbies fan though so I decided not to change it. Once the Cubs started the new 2009 season it was extremely easy to find something to talk about, definitely since they're off to a good start and then on I started to enjoy writing on my blog from time to time.

My favorite post has to be about my dream, "21st", birthday to Wrigley Field. I've been to a few games before when I was younger with my parents but I never got the chance to sit in the outfield bleacher seats. Growing up I've tried to watch every televised cubs game I can, watching fans in the outfield bleachers on a beautiful, late afternoon summer, with the huge stadium lights beaming down is something I want to be apart of someday. To make it even better, enjoying it on my 21st birthday, with the first beer I can legally buy with hot dogs and nachos, enjoying the night. Post game festivities would be even better walking down Waveland and Sheffield Avenue, shouting and yelling about a hopeful victory. Then walking into bars right next to the stadium where all the fans are finishing off a wonderful night. A dream that WILL come true!

To me a blogosphere is a huge network of networks that allows you to write and post anything you want to and may be viewed by anyone you want. Myspace and Facebook are two big starters of this blog revolution appealing to high school and college kids. This made it easier for friends to stay in touch and show off pictures and basically their whole lives out the public or private. Many different people have found their calling through the blogosphere world and have made it famous being who they really are, then others find it calming and relaxing to briefly take some time out of their hectic lives and write down what's on their mind or what has been bothering them.

Weekend!

This weekend I'm heading down to IU Friday night. A couple of my buddies from high school in Marion are getting initiated for the Pike fraternity. Hopefully I will have a fun and safe Friday night getting to see and party with some of my old high school friends. On Saturday I plan on going golfing as long as it's a nice day out. I haven't been out yet this year and I got a brand new Ping driver for Christmas. Hopefully thid driver will really improve my long game because it really could use some help. On Sunday I'm going to a Ball State baseball game with my parents, sister, and nephew, who is going to be playing for the team next year. So I'm going to have a busy but fun weekend!

Chicago Cubs!!!

I'm looking forward to a good 2009 season from the Cubs. Their new off season pickups are really looking to help out the team later on in the season. Alfonso Soriano looks to be doing great things this year, already starting off the first two games with two home runs. Hopefully this will finally be the year.

21!

As I was growing up I've always loved the Chicago Cubs. Growing up I've been to a few games at Wrigley Field with my parents and friends but my biggest dream is to one day have seats in the left outfield stands. Even better on a beautiful Saturday night with huge lights lighting up the field and the players. It's always been my dream but now I can't wait to be able to do that with an ice cold beer in my hand, haha. I think that would be one of the greatest experiences if I went right after my 21st birthday which is in August so it would be towards playoff time and the games would be much more intense. Hopefully that dream will come true in the near future.

BSU or IU?

So latley I've been in a bit of a confusing part in my life. My girlfriend of 1 year is graduating from high school at the end of this year. Her parents want her to go to IU because they both attended and they both believe is a more credited college than Ball State. So my grilfriend and a bunch of my highschool buddies want me to make the move, but im not so sure that I want to do that. I have a few of my buddies from highschool that are in frats at IU and I know they are going to want me to join and I probably would if I went but im the kind of person that can easily get sidetracked from school work and go out and have a good time without even thinking about the consequences. My girlfriend finally said that if I decided I didn't want to go to IU that she would come to Ball State so that we would be together but in some ways I feel like I could be holding her back. I feel like we could try the long distant thing between colleges because we have already been doing that between Marion and here but I know im not going to want to do that for another 4 years. I like Ball State through the week with smaller campus and classes but IU would be awesome on the weekends. I guess im just a little scared to make the move and it turns out to be a bad one, but what if it's the right move.???

Dark Knight Review!

The Dark Knight, directed by Christopher Nolan is an absolute box office hit stunner. The Dark Knight is a follow-up to the 2005’s Batman Begins, but is on a completely different level. Even if you hate comic book movies or you hated Batman Begins, you will love this one. The first scene of the movie starts of with a bang and a confusing twist. One by one the Joker, played by Heath Ledger, sends in his helpers into a bank to steal money looking exactly like him. Two different jokers are sent in for a different job and one by one as one of them completes his task his partner kills him. Once all the money is out of the vault a bus comes crashing in through the side of the bank. Some of his helpers start piling in the money and they begin to kill each other saying, “you’re not needed for the rest of the job.” In the end the real Joker played by Heath Ledger kills the remaining one and drives away free with all the money in the bus.

The trouble in the movie is that batman is upset with the way the media and public portrays him. The public sees him as a vigilante and decides to leave the hero stuff to district attorney Harvey Dent. He tries to move in on Rachel Dawes as his lady love and is his only hope for a normal life. In Gotham city everything seems like sin and the producer portrays this by shooting the movie in Chicago, bringing a gritty effect to the picture. The movie is based on the evil side of Gotham City and tries to hide that from the good everyday lifestyle.

I can honestly say I have never seen such an amazing performance by an actor in any movie. Heath Ledger’s joker has his faced caked with moldy makeup, grungy hair and yellowing teeth of a hound of hell. To him the knife is a much better weapon of choice mainly due to his childhood scars from his father. He took his roll and completely embraced it just like in some of his other rolls in Brokeback Mountain and I’m Not There. The Joker wants Batman to choose chaos, he wants Batman to join his side. In one of his lines he says, “I choose chaos,” those words sum up what’s at stake in The Dark Night. The haunting of Dark Knight soars on the wings of untamed imagination. It’s full of surprises you don’t see coming.
